One More Breath

In April 2010, I was smitten with the idea of bringing together people in a different way. A gathering of passionate people with a zest for life in a space rich with history and heritage. And with that – One More Breath was born. After 3 years and several hundred classes, OMB came to a close as Hil and I prepared for the arrival of our second daughter.

A little history…

Based out of the Nat Christie Centre, One More Breath wove it’s storyline into the bones of this sandstone landmark. Over a century old, the building has worn many hats. Originally a part of  the St Mary’s parish, it also served as a school, the Canadian Pacific train station (you can still see the tracks leading into Mission!), and is the current residence of the Alberta Ballet. And for a while was a place to join in spirited yoga practice.

We began with Sunday mornings and since that humble beginning, steadily gained momentum and added a second practice  on Tuesday nights. When one entered the space – we felt the thread of time, the energy of the room, and  a sense that honest work happens here. We ditched the pretense and got to the heart of what matters – letting the practice of yoga speak for itself. Along the way, a culture emerged: where people talked, old friends re-acquaint, new folks enter the fold, and through it all, the collective contribution shines.

If you were part of the OMB crew – thank you for being with us! I hope we will cross paths again and share in more adventures!

  1. I miss OMB desperately. Those were some truly inspirational sessions. As a stubborn runner (ruiner?) I can’t tell you how important those sessions were for me to find some semblance of balance – physically and emotionally.

    Thank you and best regards
